Who’s Eliyahu

Kibbutz Sde Eliyahu is a Modern Orthodox Kibbutz founded in 1939 by young pioneers from Germany. We are named after Rabbi Eliyahu Gutmacher (1796-1875) a precursor of modern Zionism, who was one of the first rabbis to encourage Jews to return to the land of Israel.

Today we are part of the Kibbutz Hadati kibbutz movement.

What’s special about Kibbutz Sde Eliyahu?
We are a small (760 residents) Modern Orthodox community, located in beautiful Emek Hamainot (Beit Shean Valley). We have a branch of the Bnei Akiva youth group on kibbutz.
Organic farming was first introduced to Israel by one of our members, Mario Levy, in 1970.
We have an organic market garden for self-consumption, as well as commercial organic crops.
Our factory BioBee, is one of the world’s leading producers and pioneers of beneficial insects in commercial farming.

Where is Sde Eliyahu and how do I get there?
